This is a photograph of a very well known landmark of the area, known as the 'Wanaka Tree' in New Zealand's South Island. The tree grows alone in the water and is a popular destination for tourists to take Instagram photos. It was planted as a fence post and unexpectedly grew, and now the Wānaka Tree can be seen on postcards and in paintings across the world especially in relation to New Zealand. The tree stands isolated in the lake and I chose a more moody approach to the regular photographs of this scene. By including a small stretch of the pebbly waterfront and muting the colours of the majority of the image, the tree stands proud and strong in the centre of the picture.

Print dimensions are approximate due to cropping or original image format and refer to the paper size including the white border which is included for framing purposes.
Prints are made by traditional Giclée printing, using Epson 'UltraChrome' pigment based inks that have been tested to give colour prints lasting 100 years plus without fading, and Hannëmuhle Fine Art 100% cotton paper. Should you have a specific choice of paper, please ask and I will do my best to help.
